A lot can be said of the rapper Fat Trel. However, love him or hate on him, you have to respect the way he’s made a name for himself In this murky rap world. His new song ‘These Niggas,’ which features K Camp, is a step up from Trel’s usual trap-inspired soliloquies. Not going to say ‘These Niggas’ is a hit but it surely ain’t a miss.

Pusha T didn’t disappoint with his debut album My Name is My Name last year. With all the new music Pusha has been slangin’ to the fans since last season, it feels like he should be on his fourth album. Smalltalk aside, the airwaves shut down in NYC this week when his new joint “Lunch Money” cracked off. The Kanye-produced track is a hip hop lovers masterpiece, complete with that signature Yeezy sample and next-level feel. “Aye Sire, the ruler has returned…” That KING PUSH album is coming soon.

Have you ever heard the sweet, soulful sounds of the artist they call SZA? She is perhaps The TDE crew’s best kept secret when it comes to wordplay and great music. If you’re late to the party, get familiar with her latest track “Sobriety.” This song has that early 2000’s dope, melodic-type feel; like when the neo-soul scene was fresh with names like Bilal and Goapele. Hopefully, this new music means SZA’s sophomore project is on the way.

Let’s keep it with the ladies. Another fresh voice that popped up several years back, Yuna, has new music for you to enjoy. Actually, her latest single “Lights and Camera” is a remix of the album track. This newer version features the talents of up-and-coming Bay Area native G. Eazy. Hopefully Ms. Yuna will give us fans another incredible album that can match her classic Nocturnal.

It’s a tough rap world these days for my 90’s era hip-hop superheroes. Groups like The Wu-Tang Clan have been relegated to status words like ‘legendary’ and ‘old school’. That didn’t stop my guy Ghostface from preparing for his 11th studio album. Salute to Tony Starks aka Ironman aka Ghostface Killa, as we tilt our henny-filled cups in support of his latest single “Double Cross.” His new album, 36 Seasons should be another classic.
