Edward Herrmann, the actor who portrayed Richard Gilmore on Gilmore Girls and various other characters, has passed away at the age of 71. Herrmann died in a New York hospital on Thursday morning after a long battle with brain cancer. Rest In Peace Edward Herrmann. Our condolences go out to his family during this difficult time. What a miracle! A Brazilian man has survived after being stabbed in the head with an 11-inch knife. The taxi driver was stabbed in the chest, neck, and head by a group of men. Miraculously, the knife missed his left eye and he is recovering well. [Buzzfeed]

Paul Walker‘s dad is seeking $1.8 million from Roger Rodas’ estate. Rodas was driving the car at the time when both him and Paul died from a fiery crash. His father filed the notion days before the anniversary of his son’s death. A hearing was scheduled on December 30th about the request. [US Weekly]

This sounds like a scene from the movie “Contagion.” Doctors are investigating the case of “patient zero,” a toddler who died in December 2013 from the deadly virus Ebola. The 2-year-old was believed to have contracted the disease from a bat that lived in a tree not too far from the toddler’s home. [Mashable]
