HBO and Showtime have teamed up to collect all the cash from the highly anticipated Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight.

CBS Corp. President Leslie Moonves told the Hollywood Reporter:

“It would be a tragedy [if] the two best fighters of their generation missed an opportunity for a great fight.”

He broke the ice by sending a message to Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach and his promoter Bob Arum. Although he and Roach had a falling out awhile back, Moonves knew that a Mayweather/Pacquiao fight would be the fight of the decade. Moonves stated:

“We’re trying to build the sport. Five years from now, I would love to see 10 guys who we really want to see fight as opposed to two today. That is definitely a goal, and I hope that can be accomplished. And there are millions of boxing fans who are hoping for the same thing.”

The Pay Per View Boxing match will cost $99 in HD. Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are set to fight on May 2nd.

The Lego Movie is back.

Although the animated movie didn’t win an Oscar, the film is gearing up for a sequel. Warner Bros. announced that Community writer Rob Schrab has come on board as director. The LEGO Movie sequel is set for a 2018 release.

Since it was announced late last year that Sony and Marvel were teaming up for a new Spider-Man, rumors spread that this time, he may not be white. Jeff Sneider of The Wrap made a statement:

“Listen, this is not set in stone guys, but I’m telling you right now, Spider-Man’s not gonna be white. Spider-Man is not going to be white … I am 95% sure. Spider-Man’s gonna be, most likely, black. But there’s a chance he could also be Latino. 95% sure, not white.”

Spider-Man is set to hit theaters on July 28, 2017.

Everyone wants to know if the classic song “Puff The Magic Dragon” is about, well, drugs. But the song’s creator Leonard Lipton insists that it is not. In an interview with LA Weekly, the writer said:

“This is truly bizarre now that I think about it. It’s truly crazy. What ‘they’ usually say is, ‘You know, I am going to ask “the question.”’ Everybody wants to talk about it.”

He added,

“A song for little kids that advocates the use of drugs would not be appropriate. Advocating marijuana for little kids is not a good thing. My poem was directly inspired by a poem called ‘A Tale of Custard the Dragon.’ Pirates and dragons, back then, were common interests in stories for boys. The Puff story is really just a lot like Peter Pan.”

Finally, after 50 years, our question has been answered. Thanks, Leonard Lipton.
