A horrific fire ripped through a Brooklyn home early Saturday, killing seven children believed to be from the same family. A woman, reportedly the mother of the children, as well as another teenager, were taken to a hospital after jumping from a window. Both are listed in critical condition. The blaze started from a hot plate that was left on. The children killed were between the ages of 5 and 15 years old. [Mashable]

There’s been another instance of road rage violence. A 28-year old is in critical condition, as she was shot after honking at a man in Texas. The shooting occurred shortly after the two drivers exchanged words – the victim was cut-off and fired upon by an enraged man in a white SUV. The victim, identified by family members as Kay Hofford, was struck in the back of the neck. Her attacker is still at large. [KHOU]

Twisted Sister drummer A.J. Pero has died after being found unresponsive on the band’s tour bus in New York. The 55-year old died of an apparent heart attack. He joined Twisted Sister in 1982 and left in 1986, before returning in 1997. The group released a statement on Facebook saying, ““The members of Twisted Sister are profoundly saddened to announce the untimely passing of our brother, AJ Pero. The band, crew and most importantly the family of AJ Pero thank you for your thoughts and prayers at this time.” [Gossip Cop]

Police in Florida have released body cam footage of the raid that resulted in the shooting death of an unarmed 24-year old. The dramatic video shows U.S. Marshalls and sheriff deputies surrounding the home of Corey Tanner, who was wanted for attempted murder. When the officers’ demands for Tanner to surrender were ignored he was shot and killed, despite the fact that he was unarmed and had a history of mental illness. [Daily Mail]

A gang that allegedly specialized in the violent kidnappings of criminals for large ransoms will go to trial this summer for their crimes. The group, referred to as “Joloperros” (Spanish for “stick up guys”), are believed to have kidnapped a Percocet pill dealer after stalking his movements for months. The group wore skeleton masks and demanded money. When the victim did not cooperate he was beaten and burned with a hot iron, until he escaped through a bedroom window. [Daily Mail]
