Did they or didn’t they? That is the question.
Rumors that Damon Dash and Kanye West purchased Karmaloop went viral today, as the former Roc-a-Fella Records CEO posted a video on Instagram, stating that he and the “Only One” rapper had acquired the company.
In a black and white video, posted up next to his collaborator, Dame stated:
“So we just about to do some new sh-t and just stick together culturally and take over the world… create a whole new industry and just play the game fair” he said in the short clip. “You know, honorable people stick together, so this is how the generations do. Now you super famous (pointing to ‘Ye) and we linking up and we decided to go buy Karmaloop. We just talked about it so it’s gonna happen and a couple other cool things.”
Karmaloop, which recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, denied the claims, stating:
“As we confirmed earlier this week, Kanye and Dame are among several people we’ve spoken with about Karmaloop. We’re having a lot of conversations and seeing intense interest in our brand.”
As it stands, nothing has been finalized yet; Dame and Kanye are just some of the people who’ve put in a bid for the company.
