What are some good movies to stream? That’s a question we ask all our friends whenever we get bored or we’re in the house in need of some sort of entertainment.

Well, I got you covered. I’m going to put you on to 4 independent movies that won’t waste your time and have you looking like the man when you recommend them to your friends. Take a look.

The first is Blue Ruin. It’s not your typical revenge film; it’s a cinematic masterpiece filled with beautiful shots, vivid colors, and a lot of blood. This movie got a 96 on Rotten Tomatoes, which means it’s pretty badass. It centers around Dwight Evans, a man whose life was shattered and now he lives on the beach, scavenging for food, and just getting by. Then he gets news that the man who killed his parents is getting out of jail – and that’s when he decides to get revenge. The thing is, he has no idea how to fight, kill a person, shoot a gun, or any of that. And him learning makes for a great flick.

Head to Vimeo and go watch The Cool Kids, directed by Rock Jacobs. The film centers around a group of kids who go up to the mountains to party and find themselves snowed in. There’s a lot of weed smoking, a few edibles, some sex, and a lot of death. This hour-long film is perfect to watch from your laptop or flat screen TV. Check out it by hitting up VIMEO and entering Promo code KUSH

The Babadook is a horror film that will have you sleeping with the lights on and jumping every time someone knocks on your door. It’s been getting rave reviews from horror geeks and can be a bit hard to find. It’s not on Netflix yet, but is on Amazon available to stream. With a 98 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, critics say The Babadook relies on real horror rather than cheap jump scares — and boasts a heartfelt, genuinely moving story to boot.
