Rihanna has a lot to celebrate.
Not only has she sold more digital singles than any other artist in the world, she just dropped the video to one of the hottest songs she’s ever recorded – “Bitch Better Have My Money.” Rihanna tells the story of a man who owes her a hefty sum. Since he won’t pay up, she kidnaps his wife, ties her up, drugs her out, and more. By the end of the explicit visual, bad girl RiRi is fully naked and laying in a chest full of cash and blood.
Sound a little too X-rated for television? According to the Roc Nation artist, her goal is to get the video banned. And if you’re wondering who came up with the concept – she did (like only she could), eight months ago. Rihanna also directed the video herself.
After showcasing her badassery at midnight last night, she headed to the party TIDAL threw in her honor – and if the clip below is any indication, it was turnt.
Back to RiRi becoming the first “artist in RIAA’s history to pass the 100 million Digital Singles Award mark.” Here’s what RIAA chairman and CEO Cary Sherman had to say about the amazing feat:
“We’ve given awards to artists for nearly 60 years, but it’s rare that we have the opportunity to recognize a milestone like the one Rihanna has reached. Congratulations to Rihanna! She has not only surpassed RIAA’s one-hundred million mark, but also is the first artist to do so. It’s an historic feat and a testament to an extraordinary career.”
