Only 1.3 million people tuned in to watch Caitlyn Jenner in the second episode of E!’s I Am Cait, a drop of more than 50 percent from the show’s premiere. It’s difficult to test whether people are not watching, or just not watching on Sunday night at 8 p.m., but a drop this drastic is one to note. It should be interesting to see where the show goes from here.
Newcomer Shanice Williams has officially been cast as Dorothy in NBC’s upcoming production of The Wiz Live! The soon-to-be star has appeared in several local productions, such as West Side Story, 42nd Street, and Pippin, and will now stand on stage next to Queen Latifah (as The Wiz), Mary J. Blige (as the Wicked Witch of the West) and David Alan Grier (as the Cowardly Lion) in the production.
The first trailer for Ryan Reynolds‘ upcoming superhero movie Deadpool premiered on Tuesday’s Conan, and is looking funnier (and bloodier) than any Reynolds film to date. The movie, based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, follows Wade Wilson (Reynolds) who adopts the alter ego Deadpool after being subjected to a rogue experiment. Wilson isn’t any average superhero, though – he’s got a pretty dark and twisted sense of humor. Watch the trailer, above.
Warner Brothers has decided to shift the release of Barbershop 3 from February to April, moving the upcoming movie into the summer release period. Barbershop 3 will now go head-to-head against Paramount’s Everybody Wants Some, Disney’s live-action The Jungle Book, Lionsgate’s Mechanic: Resurrection, and Universal’s The Best Man Wedding. Sorry guys, according to Ice Cube, you’re just going to have to wait.
Some people are calling Danielle Nicolet‘s new sitcom Born Again Virgin the Black Sex and The City, and she seems to agree. The 39-year-old television actor spoke about what exactly it means to be a born-again virgin, and her role in The Game in an exclusive interview on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.
