Dr. Dre is speaking out further about the abuse allegations made by journalist Dee Barnes and others who came forward to tell their stories.

Just days after admitting that he’s made horrible mistakes in the past, the famed producer delivered a statement to the New York Times, apologizing to all the women he’s hurt. He told the Times:

“Twenty-five years ago I was a young man drinking too much and in over my head with no real structure in my life. However, none of this is an excuse for what I did. I’ve been married for 19 years and every day I’m working to be a better man for my family, seeking guidance along the way. I’m doing everything I can so I never resemble that man again.”

Although he didn’t address every allegation individually, he added:

“I apologize to the women I’ve hurt. I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives.”

Dee Barnes and Dre’s former girlfriend Michel’le have yet to respond to the apology. In the meantime, Jezebel uncovered a lost scene from N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, featuring Dre in an altercation with Ms. Barnes. Read about it here.
