As fans continue to wait for new Kanye West music, his fashion endeavors gain more praise in pop culture.

Footwear News has named Kanye’s Yeezy Boost 350s its shoe of the year. The sneakers, which marked ‘Ye’s second collaboration with adidas, were released worldwide in June, and sold out almost instantly. The low-top kicks originally retailed for a cool $200, but now you’d be hard-pressed to find them anywhere, including eBay, for less than $1,000. Following up on the gray pair, Kanye released an all-black style on August 22, which also sold out quickly – much to the dismay of many sneakerheads.

Prior to the summer-ready 350 Boosts, there were the 750 Boosts, which released back in February as Yeezy’s first sneaker with adidas after the fallout with Nike. Although many enthusiasts thought Kanye couldn’t deliver again, they were quickly proved wrong, as West seamlessly mixed his high fashion dreams with his retro basketball roots. “From the moment Kanye West unveiled the 750 high-tops on the Grammys, his Adidas sneakers have been the most-coveted, most-talked-about, most-recognized shoes this year,” writes Footwear News.

With his success in fashion finally being realized by the mainstream, hopefully Kanye will take a break and finally deliver the much-anticipated SWISH.
