As A$AP Ferg continues to ready his sophomore album Always Strive And Prosper, the Harlem rapper’s also readying his A$AP Yams-inspired Adidas collection.

The “Shabba” rapper sat down with MTV to discuss the legacy of Yams, his Adidas collection, his relationship with A$AP Rocky, and working with artists outside the Mob. During the interview, Ferg revealed he’s been working with Swizz Beatz, Pharrell, and Drake’s best friend/producer Noah “40” Shebib.

They’re like scientists over there,” he said. “He has the fully quipped studio with like three doors to get to the studio, big crazy loud speakers that don’t hurt your ears. He’s great on the technical side of things, very strategic, nothing is done by mistake. We were trying to create ear candy. Something that feels good, but still feels innovative and not generic.”

Ferg also revealed he’s getting into directing music videos for other artists. Surprisingly, Ferg directed Future’s DS2 opening track “Thought It Was A Drought,” which was partially shot at Spike Lee’s house.

I shot a video for Future’s ‘Thought It Was A Drought’,” he said. “He came up to me like ‘bro, I love your videos, you’ve gotta shoot one of my videos.’ I wrote the treatment and we shot part of it in Spike Lee’s house.”

You can catch Ferg with G-Eazy on his “When It’s Dark Out” tour, which kicks off January 6, 2016. Watch Ferg’s interview with MTV up top.
