At least 45 people were killed in a triple bombing near the Syrian capital of Damascus. The blasts went off in Sayyda Zeinab, a predominantly Shiite Muslim suburb of the Syrian capital, injuring 40 others. Ironically, the attack happened while representatives from President Bashar al-Assad‘s regime and the main Syrian opposition were in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss ending the country’s civil war. Terry Wogan, one of British television and radio’s most memorable voices died after a short battle with cancer. The family released a statement saying “While we understand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy is respected at this time.” Wogan was 77 Years old. [The Guardian]

David Eisenhauer, an 18-year-old Virginia Tech freshman, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 13-year-old Nicole Madison Lovell whose body was found in Surrey County, North Carolina. Hundreds of Virginia Tech officers ended up participating in the search for Lovell. According to reports, Eisenhauer is being held without bond at Montgomery County jail. [CBS News]

59-year-old Linda Marie Smith of Arcadia was found dead Friday along with two live monkeys at the Budget Inn in southwest Florida. According to reports, there were no signs of trauma to Smith’s body. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission took custody of the monkeys. [FOX News]
