Jordan’s reign just won’t let up.
Despite retiring from the hardwood ten years ago, Michael Jordan remains a cash cow. According to a Forbes list released Wednesday, Jordan is the highest-paid retired athlete in the world. Not only that, but he’ll also make more money than any other athlete in 2016, retired or active.
Forbes estimates that Jordan is worth $1.1 billion, and that his earnings will surpass those of any other athletes this year by a whopping $30 million. Of course, a massive chunk of his money comes from Jordan brand, which raked in $3 billion last year; $100 million going straight to MJ.
Also included in the top ten of highest-paid retired athletes are David Beckham, Shaquille O’Neal, and Magic Johnson.
