Jacobson set up a lemonade stand at a family yard sale to raise money to help pay for his own adoption. He’s been living with his kinship guardians Donnie and Jimmy Davis in Springfield since he was five because his biological parents were unable to care for him.
As he stood in the yard, Jacobson shouted “Thank you for helping our adoption” to every customer to whom he handed a cup of lemonade.
The Davis’ was eager to adopt him, but the expensive legal fees made it tough. To offset the cost, the couple decided to have a few fundraisers so that they could make Jacobson a permanent member of their family.
“There’s not enough words to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who has shown support or given us donations. Everyone has made this possible. We will make sure this child will forever be ours,” Donnie Davis said.
The Davis family really is making lemonade out of lemons.
