The internet was abuzz a couple of days ago when news of Tamar Braxton‘s departure from The Real was announced. After B. Scott initially reported that the talk show host was axed by producers for difficult behavior and poor audience reception, Tamar released a joint statement with the show, explaining the decision was made in order to focus on her own endeavors.
The statement reads:
“The Real and Tamar Braxton have mutually decided that Tamar will not be continuing with the show for its upcoming third season. She will be leaving in order to concentrate on her solo career. Everyone associated with The Real appreciates Tamar’s efforts and the contributions she has made to the show’s success, and we wish her all the best for the future.”
But there may be more to the story. According to Tamar’s former assistant, the 39-year-old didn’t agree to leave the show. The Shade Room captured screen shots of Tamar’s assistant, whose Twitter handle is @mrLdavis, spilling the tea about how Tamar allegedly found out she was fired.
“That was not a joint statement that’s some shit y’all put out @TheRealDaytime Tamar did not agree to leave the real,” he said via Twitter. “Y’all know damn well today’s episode was filmed 3 weeks ago but wanted viewers to think it was live and she was mad @TheRealDaytime. Tamar gave so much to your show. Didn’t even properly promote her album because she was trapped on set all day.”
On the flip side, former co-host Adrienne Bailon showed her support for Tamar via Instagram, clearing the air about any tension that may have existed between the two. “My SISTER Forever,” she said in a photo caption with a heart emoji. “The greatest thing that has come from me being on the real is that I have found my best friend.”
