Meet North Carolina newcomer Will Wildfire.

Over the years, we’ve gotten to know NC natives like Deniro Farrar, Roc Nation’s newest signee Rapsody, and most famously J. Cole, but the Tar Heel state is undeniably fostering even more talent.

In support of his forthcoming EP, singer/songwriter Will Wildfire releases his lead single “Here For The WHYL.” The self-produced song represents the quest for fame, but uses metaphors and the allusion of a beautiful woman to personify the journey of public prominence.

“Even though this is suicide, I’m the life of the party/And all these girls here are my friends /Wanna give them the business / We got no suit and tie, J.Timberlake is my witness,” sings Will.

“Girl I’m just here for the whyl /And you came here for me / And that p*ssy is the pharaoh /Now let’s set my people free.”

“Here For The WHYL” is featured on Will’s forthcoming EP Romance Dawn 2: One Piece, which is set to drop later on this summer. If you’re looking to catch Will in living color, see his performance at Miami’s Revolution tomorrow, July 21.
