The long-awaited collaborative album featuring Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole is still on its way, according to Kendrick’s label mate Ab-Soul.

During promo rounds for his new album Do What Thou Wilt, Ab-Soul confirmed the collab album is still on its way an interview with The Breakfast Club. “They got it,” Ab-Soul said of the album. “They got something in the works. They’ve been working on that motherfucker for a while.”

When asked when exactly the project is slated to drop. Ab remained mum on the details. “These guys move like the mob, you never know with these guys.”

As far as Ab-Soul’s participation, he unfortunately couldn’t give away too much. “I can’t speak on that. I wish I could.”

You may remember that J. Cole and Kendrick have been teasing a joint album for years, with the intention of release it without warning. Back in February, Lamar and Cole both hopped on each other’s “Black Friday” remixes, which reignited whispers of a forthcoming album. So far, nothing is set in stone.

We’re ready when you are, gentlemen! Watch the clip from Ab-Soul’s interview below:
