Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards also happened to land on what would have been Notorious B.I.G.‘s 45th birthday, and while Biggie is gone, his friends and family live on — which Diddy reminded us of when he paid a touching tribute to his late partner and friend and even brought out Biggie’s son CJ Wallace.

“Biggie was the best rapper I ever had the chance to work with, watching him and seeing him work is something that words can’t explain,” Diddy said amidst cheers from the crowd. “But there’s a reason why I’m up here tonight, because tonight, and today, is Biggie’s 45th birthday.”

See what else Diddy had to say during his tribute, below:

Fans have already taken to social media to discuss the clear resemblance between CJ and his late father:

According to Diddy, CJ is a recording artist on the rise himself. We’re sure Big’s talent runs in the family and can’t wait to hear some of CJ’s stuff soon!
