Less than a week out and the 2Pac biopic, All Eyez on Me, is not getting a lot of accolades. The movie has already been slammed by Scarface and 50 Cent, but the most noticeable critique came from 2Pac’s lifelong friend Jada Pinkett Smith.

The actress went on Twitter to voice her disapproval of the film saying, “The reimagining of my relationship to Pac has been deeply hurtful.” In her tweets, Jada didn’t fault the actress playing herself, Kat Graham, for the shortcomings of the film. Despite this, Graham is speaking out.

According to Kat, she reached out to Jada in the past and even talked to her a week before the premiere. She told E! News, “When I first got the role, I reached out to [Jada] a year and a half ago… the point of reaching out to her, as well as the other producers on the film, was to insure the integrity of the story and the character.” She continued, “I even spoke to her last week and she had nothing but support.”

In response to Jada’s panning of the film, Graham said, “I have a lot of love for her. I hope people just see the movie and make the choice for themselves.”

Let’s hope Jada doesn’t clap back.
