In 2015, Viola Davis became the first African-American woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Serie for her role in How To Get Away With Murder. In 2017, Viola became the first African American ever to win an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Tony in a competitive acting category.
