Ariana Grande

Oh Ariana.

White people have a thin tightrope to walk when they try to be cultured. In Ariana’s case, she probably tried to be “different” when she got a tattoo in Japanese in honor of her song “7 rings.”

She thought the Japanese symbol would actually translate to “7 rings,” but instead it translated to “shichirin,” which is a small barbecue grill.

The Internet had their laughs well prepared.

Ariana then tried to get her tatt amended, but still messed up. According to a Buzzfeed Japan news reporter, Ariana’s tatt now reads “Japanese BBQ finger.” Twitter continued the dragging.

“I still have a hard time understanding why ANYONE would get a tattoo in a language they don’t speak/aren’t connected to through heritage or even location,” one @arikvash tweeted. “Literally what is the point? Y’all can defend Ariana Grande all you want but she low key dumb af.”
