One of the biggest trends over the last couple of years are comic books being turned into movies. Well, there might be a new trend budding: musicians turning their albums into comic books!

Tomorrow, Comic-Con hits the San Diego Convention Center for a three-day run.

One of the cooler items to be featured is the premiere of Coldplay’s latest project. The band is set to debut a six-part comic book series, which will tell the story behind the group’s last album, Mylo Xyloto.

Academy Award-nominated writer and director Mark Osborne helped pen the story with the group.

In a statement, Coldplay described the comic as a true collaborative effort, saying:

“Gradually Mylo’s story and universe came together, and this ended up providing the backdrop for the album and tour.”

Both Coldplay and Osborne will be on hand to present their new project on Friday, July 13.

Mylo Xyloto is the platinum-selling fifth studio album from Coldplay. The album, released last October, was a concept record that told the story of love blossoming in a dystopian environment.
