After all the laughter has subsided, The Queen is finally able to speak.

VIDEO: Mary J. Blige Sings About Fried Chicken In Pulled Burger King Commercial

As you all are probably aware, Burger King recently released a commercial of Mary J. Blige promoting the restaurant chain’s new crispy chicken wrap sandwich.

The commercial was met with much backlash and laughter because Mary was singing quite passionately about the fried chicken wrap, which some felt was reinforcing the whole black people and fried chicken stereotype.

Mary J. Blige’s Burger King Song Isn’t The Destruction Of The Black Race!

Well after two days, and after Burger King pulled the commercial from its YouTube page, claiming that there was a music licensing issue, The Queen has responded.

Mary, who spoke to TMZ, claims that she never signed off on the commercial and that she’s not feeling the finished product.

She told TMZ:

“I agreed to be a part of a fun and creative campaign that was supposed to feature a dream sequence. Unfortunately, that’s not what was happening in that clip. I understand my fans being upset by what they saw. But, if you’re a Mary fan, you have to know I would never allow an unfinished spot like the one you saw go out.”

Mary wasn’t the only one to respond to the controversy. Earlier today, Burger King issued an apology to Mary J. and her fans. The restaurant chain claims that the ad is unfinished and that they will have a new (and hopefully approved) commercial ready to go.
