A lot of hip-hop hearts were broken when allegations that Nas used Jay Electronica as a ghostwriter on his controversial album Untitled surfaced last night.

DETAILS: SAY WHAT? Jay Electronica Was A Ghostwriter On Nas’ Untitled Album

The allegations first hit the ‘net as a writer from Rappers I Know recalled a phone conversation he had with Jay Electronica back in 2007 about ghostwriting Nas’ ninth studio album.

No one took the personal blog seriously, until hip-hop lover and writer, dream hampton, confirmed that Jay Electronica did in fact ghostwrite at least Nas’ “Queens Get The Money” track off Untitled

It just so happens that Nas was asked about ghostwriting last week when he stopped by Power 106’s “Big Boy In The Neighborhood” radio show.

EXCLUSIVE BLOG: Nas Says “F*ck Pop; Should We?”

Although it’s not a direct response to the Jay Electronica allegations that dream hampton confirmed on Twitter last night, Nas does talk about ghostwriting and how he doesn’t need a ghostwriter.

When asked if he’s ever had a ghostwriter, Nas replies:

“No. You know who is my ghostwriter? My friends, people I meet on the street, people say something and I get something from that. Somebody will say something and that sparks something in me. So I get it from everybody.”

Hopefully, the Nas ghostwriting allegations are just that – allegations.
