After asking the judge to delay the trial because there was no money left to carry on with the case, George Zimmerman’s defense team is now reporting that they’ve raised a good chunk of money.

The fund’s recent fundraising surge generated about $54,000 since January 1, money that allowed the team to hire three experts for Zimmerman’s upcoming trial.
The defense team also reported that Zimmerman and his wife have spent nearly $12,000 on living and household expenses in that time.
They had relaunched the fundraising effort and website Jan. 30, acknowledging that they had spent their way through more than $300,000 and were nearly broke.
We wonder how much more they will get before the start of the trial.
