In an attempt to clear their names, Jonesboro, AK police have released a reenactment video of the Chavis Carter shooting – in hopes that the public will see that it is possible to shoot ones self in the head while handcuffed.

STORY: So It Begins! Chavis Carter’s Family Hires A Lawyer 

In the video, we seen an officer playing the part of Chavis, the Southaven, Miss., young man who died from a gunshot wound to the temple on July 28th, despite being frisked twice by Jonesboro police officers. 

Jonesboro police claim that after they stopped Chavis and placed him in the back of a patrol vehicle, the 21-year-old shot himself in the head.

The Chavis case garnered nationwide attention, as many believe it’s impossible for a man to shoot himself in the temple while handcuffed.

Along with Jonesboro’s investigation, the FBI is monitoring the case, while the state and local branches of the NAACP have asked the Justice Department to investigate.

The two officers who made the arrest are on administrative leave. Take a look at the reenactment below:
