Ever since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the country has been trying to figure out the best way to prevent a similar incident from ever happening again.

While gun control is already being put into question, some schools are now planning on doing attack drills with faculty to test their preparation for a potential disaster.

According to the NY Daily News, a school in Oregon did a test run as of recently by surprising their faculty with a staged gunman, and the result wasn’t what they expected.

The site reports that 2 out of the 15 people went “unhurt” by the fake gunman.

Elementary school teacher Morgan Gover told The Oregonian newspaper:

“I’ll tell you, the whole situation was horrible. I got a couple in the front and a couple in the back.”

A school in the suburbs of Chicago also did a “code red” drill, where a gunman shot blanks into a gymnasium.

Not all parents are a fan of the surprise drills, being that one child sent his parent a panicked text message in El Paso, Texas during a lockdown.

Hopefully these schools can find out the best way to prepare students and faculty for a potential attack.
