Jordan Brand is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Michael Jordan’s historic game winning shot during the March 29, 1982 NCAA Tournament finals by hosting a special online auction for the iconic Converse Pro Leather Mid LTD.

Even though Michael Jordan wore Converse while he was playing for UNC, this is the first time that Jordan will endorse a shoe brand other than Nike or Jordan Brand.

The special edition Jordan X Converse Collab pays tribute to the moment that Mike Jordan became Michael Jordan and the moment number 23 became legendary. Each pack includes a Converse Pro Leather Mid, which is accompanied by an original North Carolina jersey, all enclosed in a deluxe hardwood box. Each shoe is hand-signed by Jordan and is laced with details that are unique to that magical night.

The Converse Pro Leather Mid featured in the pack is White with notes of Valor Blue featured on all the logos.  The collar is accented with gold lace tips and the Athletic Navy colored sockliner features the UNC practice logo on the left and the Jumpman logo on the right. The phrase “30 Years of 23” is woven on the outside of the tongue, while the pack number is sewn on the inside. As a tribute, Jordan Brand will deliver seven of the packs to individuals connected with Michael and this iconic basketball moment.

Appearing on the top of the box is a gold colored Jumpman badge associated with winning and excellence. The interior of the box is lined with Valor Blue fabric, paying homage to the practice shorts Jordan wore under his uniform. Underneath the fabric, a cut-net rope pull-tab leads to a mounted jersey equipped with a Jumpman logo and the pack number. A piece of acrylic featuring the Jumpman, practice short logo and the phrase “30 years of 23” separates the jersey from the shoes.

Led by Jordan Brand’s corporate responsibility program, Wings for the Future, 30 packs in total will be created with 23 being auctioned online through eBay, which began on Monday, April 2. The packs will not be available for retail.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will support the James R. Jordan Foundation, which is dedicated to strengthening families, motivating youth and ensuring high quality academic opportunities for children in underserved communities.
