Beyoncé took a minute to honor the lives of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile during her Formation World Tour concert in Scotland on Thursday.
“Please join me in a moment of silence to acknowledge the lives of Alton Stering and Philando Castile,” she said as the names of police brutality victims scrolled on a screen behind her.
Beyoncé also made a statement with a powerful manifesto she shared on her website. “It is up to us to take a stand and demand that they ‘stop killing us,'” she said. “We don’t need sympathy. We need everyone to respect our lives.”
