The Unexpected…

The First Lady Michelle Obama has been all over the world. Spain, Germany and India to name a few. She’s fed our troops on numerous bases around the world and her knowledge on foreign matters is unmatched. One of the main jobs of the Secretary of State is to advise the President, and on many occasions President Obama has stated that his closest advisor is Michelle. And for those who believe it’s a clear case of nepotisim, we would remind them that President John F. Kennedy had his brother Robert Kennedy serve as Attorney General.

Our Favorite…

Keith Maurice Ellison is the U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s 5th congressional district, serving since 2007. He is the first Muslim to be elected to the United States Congress. He is also the first African American elected to the House from Minnesota. One big misconception is that the Secretary of State is a women’s job. The last three Secretary of States have been women with the exception of Colin Powell. Ellison would be an excellent choice, his passion alone warrants him worthy of a candidacy.
