Keith Maurice Ellison is the U.S. Representative for Minnesota's 5th congressional district, serving since 2007. He is the first Muslim to be elected to the United States Congress. He is also the first African American elected to the House from Minnesota. One big misconception is that the Secretary of State is a women's job. The last three Secretary of States have been women with the exception of Colin Powell. Ellison would be an excellent choice, his passion alone warrants him worthy of a candidacy.
