Former NBA Star, Jayson Williams, has been sentenced to a minimum of eighteen months in prison for the fatal shooting of his limousine driver in 2002.

He avoided a re-trial, which might have given him a longer term, if he was found guilty, by pleading guilty last month to aggravated assault in the death of Costa Christofi.

The judge in the case sentenced him to five year on the cover-up counts, which will run concurrent to the assault sentence.  The former New Jersey Net will be eligible for parole after 18 months.

This ends a wild eight year struggle for Jayson, which included suicide attempts, drunk driving and bizarre appearances.
