Haven’t written In a while but I’m I’m back out here in LA and back on the grind.

It feels great to be bak in LA after a dramatic few months back home in AUS.

So much has happened in the interim that I find it quite hard to know where to begin to write about it, due to pending legal matters (and fear of being draining or burdensome) I will only say that I have received some serious harrassment and it has greatly affected both my private and professional lives.

With that in mind, I’m now concentrating on pouring myself back into songwriting and recording, taking every experience as material to write about and draw from – I’m grateful for the lessons!

The first party I went to when I arrived here was an afternoon pool party in a private home in Beverly Hills. Showing my complete and utter Australian-ess I rock up to this party wearing denim cut offs, a bikini and flip flops with no makeup ready for a swim. As I walked into this amazing mansion I have NEVER felt more out of my depth, and I’m not talking about the pool water depth! Every single girl at this party was completely manicured to perfection, full makeup, perfectly curled hair extensions, designer bodies in designer bikinis wearing sky high stilettoes. It’s like stepping onto a music video set. Absolutely everything that exists in the world was at this party, they had a zebra, a babboon, tattooist tattooing people, even the world’s fastest etch a sketch artist and midgets playing soccer. I grab a massive serve of free fairy floss, or Candy Floss as they call it here and realise that there is NOBODY  SWIMMING. Apparently people don’t swim at pool parties here?! Who knew?!

After a week with friends and parties, I’m starting to see how easily one can get lost in the traps of LA, there is literally 3 parties everynight, each one with a bigger hype around it to hang one’s hopes of “making contacts”or “living the dream” on. The reality is, while L.A. is a very social town, and being seen is important, it’s not more important than actually working!

So back to the grind.

Back to picking up the blackberry, scrolling through the contacts, reaching out, taking meetings, studio sessions, follow ups, waiting for callbacks, and generally making it happen.

Studio sesions have been awesome, the talent here in U.S.A is inspiring, exciting and intimidating. I’m finding my biggest struggle at the moment is finding and choosing my musical direction. When you love, listen to and relate to all types of music it’s hard to know where you fit in the scheme of things. Are my lyrics too deep for pop? Does my image as a model detract from serious songwriting? I dream of creating a sound where I can be myself and create something DIFFERENT to just slotting into what it expected from either points of view.

My good friend and fellow Aussie model Brooke Evers has been in town this week and it’ been great to have a fellow Aussie girl here. The other day we found ourselves sunbaking on the grounds of a $30,000,000 mansion in Beverly Hills. (this place has it’s own nightclub, MTV Cribs style) so how did we score the invite??

A fellow Aussie from Sydney has been living there rent free after winning a bet with the homeowner in a one on one basketball game, literally “If I can get this 3
