On the radio with Ryan Seacrest earlier today, Glee creator Ryan Murphy announced that Britney Spears will appear on the tribute episode dedicated to the her success in music. Murphy states that Britney will be ‘one hundred percent’ appearing in the episode, casting away any doubt fans and blogs had about the tribute episode earlier in the summer. “The Britney episode is so reverential about her, and so kind and it’s about her music,” Murphy told Seacrest. “It’s not about her personal life.”
“I think Britney Spears is pop culture, and I think she’s been through a lot,” he continued. “And I want to do something that just sort of says, ‘You know what, thank you for what you’ve done. And we’re encouraging you to continue to be doing as fantastic as you are.’ We’re handling Britney with kid gloves,” Murphy said.
Murphy also confirms that Carol Burnett will make an appearance in another episode of the show to play Sue Sylvester’s mother and that Will Schuester will not be shaving his head. Can’t wait for the new season!
