When you look at a record label and their artists, one dominates the other in an obvious way. Record label executives and CEO’s are the kings while artists are the King’s horses. Now I’ll ask you bloggers and readers what’s the difference between a king and his horse? Picture it, if a record label is made of individuals who are the same as artists in a distinguishable way, then why are industry heads soaking up money and artists’ careers are being thrown down the drain? One word: INSTINCT! Those in the buisness are hungry and need something to nourish them, over 80% of rappers, singers, etc. don’t have this instinct to look out for themselves and use that killer instinct. In this world there are times where using your brain and logic is stupid and foolish. Thinking that doing a song with somebody who’s major will put you on indefinitly isn’t good thinking since you have to reach your audience and connect with them on the same level, but doing a song with an artist your fans dislike leads to big changes and thats when it shows that you DON’T have that killer instinct. Selling out at shows is one thing, but when you sell out for real that goes to show you don’t have what it takes. Labels are barely getting by as it is, so what do you think will happen when the horses die in the end? They’ll lose everything, but if the horses develop killer instincts, they won’t need record labels and end up making money on their own. So this has to become a slave type buisness, destroy the mind and keep the body, but in music terms, destroy the instincts and keep the vocal perspectives. In the end, one has die, the horse or the king, meaning the record labels or the artists.
