There’s something so lovable about movie geeks and the actors who play them. They’re consistently funny, self-deprecating and reassure us that no matter how self conscious we feel sometimes, at least we’re not as socially awkward as them!
Some actors have made a pretty lucrative career playing the dork. Take the entire cast of’Superbad‘ for example, or Anthony Michael Hall, who valiantly attempted to win the affections of Molly Ringwald (who was a bit of a girl geek herself) in pretty much every John Hughes movie in the ’80s.
The geek in the movie always ends up your favorite character. Sure you root for the beautiful guy and girl to get together, or kick some ass and save the world, etc. But it’s their wise-cracking geeky sidekick who usually steals the show.
Take a look at some of our favorite movie nerds and let your inner geek flag fly!
Michael Cera, king of nerds, he has played one in ‘Arrested Development,’ ‘Youth in Revolt,’ ‘Juno,’ and ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World‘ to name a few!
