America continues to watch as our government leaders try to strike a deal to make sure the government doesn’t shut down. Watching the ongoing drama in Washington must be the biggest deal in American history—well, almost.

STORY: Damn, Uncle Sam Wants To Stick Me For My Paper!

Looking back, we found that the budget negotiations currently happening aren’t the only big deals that have gone down in history. Back in 2000, Alex Rodriguez became a free agent and signed a 10-year deal with the Texas Rangers that was worth $252 million. That was a big deal.

So if you think what’s going in Washington is big, they have nothing on these super rich, stacks on stacks deals.

It’s The Roc 

Worth: The deal with Live Nation helped Jay-Z cross the $400 million mark in net worth.  

Deal: From artist to management, Jay-Z’s Roc Nation has almost cornered the market when it comes to musical talent — J. Cole, Willow Smith and Rihanna to name a few. In April 2008, Live Nation partnered with Jay-Z to create Roc Nation and they have been taking over ever since.

Worth: $100 Million

Deal: Oprah had agreed to a fifty-fifty partnership in which Discovery (home of the Discovery Channel, TLC and other nonfiction programming) would invest $100 million in her network OWN.

Worth: An estimated $500 million

Deal: On October 6, 2004, Howard Stern announced his first deal, signing a five-year contract with Sirius Satellite Radio.

Worth: $10 Billion

Deal: Warren Buffett bet $1 billion on the strength of Coke’s name and made $10 billion in return.

Worth: 9 figures

Deal: Michael Robertson paid $1,000 for the Internet domain name MP3.com and turned it into a nine-figure fortune.

Worth: Combining the Vitamin Water deal for $400 million and his movie deal for $200 million.

Deal: In October of 2010, 50 Cent expanded his multimedia empire, securing $200 million for a film deal. In 2007, 50 reportedly received a massive $400 million paycheck after Coca-Cola bought his energy drink Formula 50.
