Slowly but surely, Anthony Mackie has proven himself as one of the most talented young actors in Hollywood. In ten years, Anthony has appeared in various films, including two Oscar winners for Best Picture (‘Million Dollar Baby,’ ‘The Hurt Locker’), two of the Best ‘Hip Hop’ movies of all time (‘8 Mile,’ ‘Notorious’), acted opposite Oscar nominated performances, (‘Half Nelson’ opposite Ryan Gosling, ‘The Hurt Locker’ opposite Jeremy Renner) and recently graced the famed cover of the Vanity Fair ‘Hollywood’ edition. This March, you can see him on screen opposite Matt Damon and Emily Blunt in ‘The Adjustment Bureau.’

Over the years you’ve worked with Matt Damon, Ryan Gosling, Jeremy Renner, and Denzel Washington to name a few. What makes a great actor ‘great’?

Anthony Mackie: Patience and willingness to let his/her fellow actor to explore…and the ability to discuss Ben Lyons.

You’ve been in 8 Mile & Notorious and played Tupac off Broadway. These are stories centered around the lives of three out of the top 5 MC’s of all time. Which other 2 MC’s would you want to see portrayed on stage or screen?

Run DMC, Beastie Boys, and Ben Lyons.

Where is the craziest place you’ve been to either make or promote a movie?

Went to Berlin Film Festival for ‘Notorious’ and that was just crazy fun…the food, the art, the clubs…and of course the promotion for the film or anywhere with Ben Lyons.

What were the most important pair of sneakers in your life?

First pair of classic red white and black Air Jordans-saved up all summer to get them doing chores around the house and neighborhood and editing for Ben Lyons.
