The more we get to know Muammar Gaddafi, the more we see how nuts he is. In an interview with the BBC, Sunday Times and America’s ABC network, the Libyan leader said he would not leave Libya. In fact, Gaddafi’s delusion has gotten so far that he believes that no one is against him or Libya. He told ABC, “No, no one against us. Against me for what? Because I am not president. They love me, all my people with me. They love me all. They will die to protect me, my people.”

From the pictures coming out of Libya, it’s pretty clear Gaddafi may be wrong in his assessment. However, his allies still support him, like Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. Chavez said that he won’t condemn Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and that everyone is building a campaign of lies, spun together to condemn his friend.

On the flip side, there are many entertainers getting wise to the situation in Libya and most of them have performed for the Gaddafi family. Singer Nelly Furtado once performed for the Gaddafi family and was paid $1 million. After the recent uprising Furtado is planning on returning that $1million fee to charity.

Other notable artist that have performed for the Gaddafi family. Mariah Carey accepted a $1 million fee to perform for Gaddafi’s son, Muatassim’s, Libya’s national-security adviser, lavish New Year’s Eve party on the Caribbean island of St. Barts in 2008. Beyoncé and Usher performed for an undisclosed sum on the island the following year. Even rapper 50 Cent gave a performance before Muatassim at a 2005 film festival in Venice. Even though at one time Libya was an American ally, so these artist were doing anything illegal or bad. But since the uprising, they should follow in the footsteps of their fellow entertainer, Nelly Furtado.
