“The great schlep” first came from comedians. It was Sarah Silverman’s call for all Jews to take a trip down to Florida to persuade their grandparents to vote for Obama back in 2008.

Now another great schlep is upon us. Former Alaska Governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is making the rounds in Israel.

Sarah Palin is schlepping around Israel and it looks like she’s taking in the complete experience. Palin has visited the City of David, prayed at the Western Wall in Jerusalem and touched the clay in the tunnel of the Western Wall. This is a great learning experience for Palin if she plans on running for President in 2012. It’s an incredible opportunity to brush up on her foreign policy. So what did Palin learn from her trip? Take a look.

Blood Libel: Going over to Israel shows that Palin is trying to smooth over any hostilities after her now infamous “blood libel” comment.

City Of David: Palin learned that the City is the oldest settled neighborhood of Jerusalem and a major archaeological site — not where David Letterman lives.

Republican Pilgrimage: Palin learned that she had to go to Israel if she plans on running in 2012. She’s following in the footsteps of Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney.

The Jewish Vote: Just because you go to Israel doesn’t mean you’ll automatically get the Jewish vote.

Star of David: The six points in the Star of David doesn’t represent your nicknames: Sarah Barracuda, Caribou Killer, Caribou Barbie, Disastra From Alaska, Tina Feylin and Gosh-silla.
