Beyonce brought the fashion hard in her new “Run The World (Girls)” video. One designer who caught our eye was Gareth Pugh, the man responsible for the singer’s mirrored gold dress and shoes.

Dubbed the StarShip Enterprise, the shoes caught our attention when they were presented at the 2011 Pitti Immagine in the beginning of the year.

“I love Gareth Pugh, he’s amazing,” gushed Beyonce earlier this year. “His work is so different. The dramatic shoulder pads make your waist look teeny tiny and it’s very structured and graphic and modern. I think the contrast of his garments and my personality is really cool. And I get to dress up and be whatever I want.”

So, who is Pugh? Another graduate of Central Saint Martins, the school at the center of the UK fashion world and the same one responsible for Alexander McQueen and M.I.A.

Pugh, known for accentuating model’s limbs, graduated in 2003. His work caught the attention of a Dazed & Confused magazine editor who, after seeing one of his presentations at the school, put one of his designs on the mags cover.

Anna Wintour is one of his supporters and Australian pop star Kylie Minogue has used his designs on her tours, most recently for her ‘Homecoming’ and ‘Showgirl-The Greatest Hits’ Tour.

After the break, more Gareth Pugh designs.
