Some of the biggest names in the industry, including rapper J.Cole, headed to the backwoods of Tennessee to perform at the 2011 Bonnaroo Music Festival.

Performing on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee, didn’t stop J.Cole from bringing his big boy swag to the stage. Before getting deep into his set, J.Cole paid homage to his biggest rap idols, Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.

The North Carolina-raised rapper shouted, “Ya’ll make some noise for motherf**king Tupac Shakur,” before rapping Tupac’s “I Ain’t Mad At Cha.” With energy for days, J.Cole performed back to back songs including his Isley Brother’s sampled song “Higher.”

Although he hasn’t been able to receive clearance to release his single off his debut album, J.Cole recently performed his Paula Abdul sampled song during Rihanna’s “Loud” tour in Baltimore, Maryland.
