After splitting from popular girl group the Pussycat Dolls, Melody Thornton is now embarking on a solo venture. Her track “Sweet Vendetta,” which was released on iTunes, is the singer’s debut single.
Deviating from the Pussycat Dolls’ sound, “Sweet Vendetta” is an up-tempo track with a retro tone reminiscent of the ’60s that describes a lover’s quarrel.
With powerful vocals Thornton croons, “Just like a phoenix leaving my nest/ I’ll be willing to draw blood in my own defense.”
With this track, Thornton is starting off her solo career strong and her lyrics make it clear that she’s willing to fight to the death for what she loves.
