Prior to earlier reports, “Tudors” star Jonathan Rhys Meyersdid not try to commit suicide. Instead he fell into another alcoholic binge.

The 33-year-old actor was found “slumped” at his home in central London, because of a relapse into old drinking habits. Meyers claims that the loss of his mother in 2007 fueled his drinking, and the star has not been able to stop ever since.

Upon the arrival of paramedics, the “Bend It Like Beckham” star is said to have refused medical attention before being taken to the hospital. Local police were called because of his refusal, but eventually they got the star to his home.

Dr. David Sack of Promises Treatment Centre told ContactMusic, “The fact that Rhys Meyers was trying to send away the ambulance suggest he didn’t recognize the seriousness of the problem and that he was still hoping to conceal it. If on reflection he decides to re-engage in treatment, his prognosis could be very good.”

GlobalGrind wish Jonathan the very best.
