Nicki Minaj was shocked to find out that her cousin, Nicholas Telemaque, was shot and killed in Brooklyn on the early morning hours of July 4th.

Nicki expressed her remorse, tweeting, “My cousin Nicholas. Also goes by Juse, or @brolicalcoholic Murdered Last nite Near his home Brooklyn, NY.”
Telemaque’s cousin, Carol Clarke, told Radaronline that, “Nicki is absolutely devastated, as are all our family over the death of Nicholas.”

Nicki, who was born in Trinidad, went back to her native land leading up to her “Pink Friday” album release. MTV followed the Young Money Barbie as she visited family members. Minaj shopped, hugged and talked about old times and reflected on moments with her grandmother, who she lived with after her mother left Trinidad for America.
