Richard Branson should thank the heavens that actress Kate Winslet was there on Necker Island, the Virgin billionaire’s private island in the Caribbean, the night lightning struck his $70 million house and burnt it down.

Who knows what would have happened if the Titanic actress and Academy Award winner hadn’t rescued Branson’s mother and escorted her out of the flaming home. We shudder to think.
After the horrifying incident, which saw 20 guests homeless on the island (for a few hours anyway) Branson thanked Winslet via Twitter for carrying his mom to safety.
Richard was devastated by the loss of family photographs, but grateful that his friend came to the rescue.
In honor of Kate’s bravery, we’ve put together some of her best red carpet looks. She may not have been wearing a cape, but at least she always looks great! Way to go Kate.
