This weekend, the famed film and video director received a lifetime achievement award during the Outstanding Achievement in Comedy award presentation during the 2011 Friars Club Comedy Film Festival at the New York Friars Club.

His longtime friend and hip-hop icon Russell Simmons was in attendance to show support as he accepted the honor.
At the age of 42, Brett has directed over a dozen movies and over 20 music videos. His upcoming movie Tower Heist starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller hits theaters on November 4th.
