Rich Cronin, 36, lead singer of LFO lost his battle to myelogenous leukemia this morning. During the boy band era of the 90’s, his trio group LFO (Lyte Funky Ones)brought us one of the greatest summer anthems “Summer Girls”. They followed with another top 10 Billboard hit “Girl on T.V”.

Former band mate and friend Brad Fischetti told CNN that Cronin underwent chemotherapy treatments, and suffered a stroke as a result. Fischetti also revealed Cronin was treated with a stem cell transplant a few years ago.

His manager, Melissa Holland, made this tatement on Cronin’s Facebook page:

‘On behalf of the Cronin family and all at the Hope Foundation and [his record label] Orange Freeze, thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts. Continue to post them as a tribute to a great man, a better artist and the best friend I could ever have.’
