Everything the doctors have told me has been on point, which is encouraging to me. I had a great day today of rehab.

“The doctors and I have been in constant communication. We’re on the same page and I’m encouraged by what they’ve said . . . I’ve seen these guys for weeks and everything they’re saying is right on point, that everything looks good and I’ll be cleared and ready to go.”

Sources close to the Colts organization told Yahoo Sports that it is unlikely Manning will ever play football again. According to Yahoo, the velocity on his passes has not improved and possibly never will.

Manning has been plagued with neck injuries over the past two years, resulting in numerous surgeries.

Two league-affiliated doctors with experience in spinal fusion surgery said that it would be too risky for Manning to play again and it could take as long as a year for Manning to know whether a return is possible.

Manning’s playing situation has been a main topic of discussion this NFL season with every passing week. He is due to collect a $28 million bonus in early March, but that won’t happen if he decides to retire.

Peyton’s younger brother Eli is making his second Super Bowl appearance in four years with the New York Giants. Eli will take on Peyton’s chief rival Tom Brady this Sunday!
