The comedic actor who was hospitalized last month for kidney failure has decided to call it quits on his New York syndicated radio show.

Cannon was hospitalized last month and recently revealed he had blood clots in his lungs and an enlarged ventricle in the right side of his heart. He announced Friday he’s leaving his daily morning radio show on New York’s WXRK (92.3 FM).

In a statement, Mariah Carey’s hubby said:

“Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to cut back on some of my professional commitments to allow my body to get the rest it needs to keep up with the demands of my multitasking schedule.”

“Even Superman has to sleep,” he added.

Cannon will continue to host the syndicated radio show “Cannon’s Countdown,” and America’s Got Talent on NBC.

Between radio shows, comedy gigs, hosting America’s Got Talent and being the father of twins, Cannon was a workaholic. We’re glad to see that he’s giving up one of his jobs for his health.
