And the verdict is in! AnnaSophia Robb is the new Carrie Bradshaw!
Sex and the City’s prequel The Carrie Diaries has been the talk of town since the CW officially signed on to produce the show in early 2012. Rumors of actresses to play Carrie Bradshaw have been running wild, but it is now official that 18-year-old AnnaSophia Robb will play the lead.
You may remember AnnaSophia from the 2011 film Soul Surfer and before that, as Violet Beauregarde in the 2005 Johnny Depp version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. However with this popular role now added to her resume, it’s a fact that if you don’t remember her from before, you’d be a fool to forget her now!
We have to admit that former Carrie Bradshaw actress Sarah Jessica Parker set the bar really high, leaving some pricey heels for newcomers to fill, but we have faith that AnnaSophia will evoke the essence of Carrie in a whole new way.
We can’t wait to for The Carrie Diaries to hit TV screens and make us fall in love with Carrie Bradshaw all over again!
